And now we have gutters.

No roof; just gutters.

And the occasional downpipe ... right in the walkways:

We do have some plumbing (both water and gas) as well as

some electrical wiring starting to happen:

And an almost swimming pool in the alfresco:
Hope the rain stops long enough for them to put the roof sheets on.

Saturday 23 July 2011

We have a roof frame!

They started the roof frame on the 19th July.

From the back alfresco corner:
And this is the roof on the 22nd July.
Move quickly when they want to, don't they?
If you look closely, you can spot one of the locals checking the place out...
Here's a close-up for those of you with bad eyesight (like me):

He sat up there for most of the time I was there. I think he was going to try to claim the place as his own, but once he saw how happy I was that there is finally a roof, he took off down the street.

Monday 18 July 2011

Bricks are finished and roof timber has been delivered ...

It's starting to look like a real house; not just a pile of bricks!

From the very front:

Front door frame is in:

We have pillars in the alfresco:

Brad checking out the size of his built-in-robe while Drew tries to look cool:

The roof should be started soon and then they can start on all the inside stuff!

Sunday 10 July 2011

Just a little bit more ...

The brickwork is nearly done.

Just one more wall in the entryway and it's finished!

Looking in the front door:

Standing in my walk-in pantry looking through the kitchen from the family room:
Once the bricks are finished, the roof can start but only if the weather holds ...

Wednesday 6 July 2011

What a difference a couple of days make ...

They've almost finished the external face brick walls and my bedroom window frames are in.

From the back alfresco corner: Down the laundry side: They've even done some of the internals too. This will eventually become the kitchen:
We're finally getting somewhere ... woohoo!!

Monday 4 July 2011

No real progress yet ...

Took the boys out to have a look on Saturday thinking there might have been a bit more done but there wasn't. Managed to get some photos of them (looking really impressed) standing where their rooms will eventually be:

and Bradley trying to work out how deep the water really is ...

Sunday 3 July 2011

Woohoo! The nosebleeds are done!

The nosebleeds are the bottom course of bricks for those 'not in the know'.

(because of the constant bending over with their heads lower than their hearts,

the brickies could get nosebleeds)

From the front door:
You can just see the beginning of the back wall in the photo above and

really see what it looks like so far in the ones below.

From the alfresco back corner:
From the other back corner: And the workshop/garage has been started too:

Hopefully we'll get some fine weather next week so they can do a whole lot more...
